After approaching everyone from Shahid to Ajay, he finally found his lead in Akshay Kumar, who has agreed to do the film.

Sajid is now making his second film titled Houseful which is also a rib-tickling comedy. For this project, he lined up Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone along with Jiah Khan and Lara Dutta. Ritesh Deshmukh plays a pivotal role in this film.

To increase the hot sexy look of the female actors Sajid made Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone and Jiah Khan wear hot shot clothes and bikinis.

Sonam Kapoor, finally, has a reason to smile. We hear that she has bagged a lead role opposite Akshay Kumar in director Anees Bazmee’s next flick ‘Thank You.’ Not only that she has also said to have replaced Akki’s lucky charm Katrina in the flick.
Akshay has always been a fan of the sizzling beauty ever since she made her debut in ‘Saawariya’. He has been so much in awe of the young lass that he even mentioned his desire to work with Sonam to her father Anil Kapoor. A while ago there were reports that Farah Khan also was considering Sonam before she finalised Katrina for Tees Maar Khan.
A source reveals that Thank You is a romantic comedy and will see Sonam in a totally different role. There was buzz that Katrina had landed the role, but the source confirms that her dates were clashing with the Dostana sequel.

Trade circles say that Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar was reportedly signed for as high a fee as Rs 71 crore for a film, has had a change of mind.
Reliable market sources say that the entire completion cost of Akshay’s next two films –‘Khatta Meetha’ directed by Priyadarshan and ‘Tees Maar Khan’ directed by Farah Khan will reportedly not exceed Rs 35 crore. According to one trade source the cost of making ‘Khatta Meetha’ and ‘Tees Maar Khan’ won’t include the actor’s fee.
The same source adds that when Akshay realised that his films ‘Chandni Chowk to China’, ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ and ‘Tasveer’ lost money because of his individual fee as an actor, he decided to make a market correction. Having studied the current Bollywood trade scene, the actor has decided not to charge a single penny for his films.
However, Akki’s banner ‘Hari Om Productions’ is a co-producer of the films ‘Khatta Meetha’ and ‘Tees Maar Khan’. The actor explains the logic behind this drastic move of not charging his market fee. He said that for both the films his fees will be Rs.0. If both films are hits, then the production house will stand to benefit by getting a part of the profits. If the film is average, the profit margin will automatically be reduced. And if the film flops, no one will lose money because the budget has been controlled. By not charging his personal remuneration as an actor, he has made sure that these films will at least romp home with no losses.
Trade sources say that the Akshay is being closely watched by all actors who have home productions. Akshay Kumar won’t charge a single penny for two of his films.

Former Pakistani cricketer super fast blower Wasim Akram will reportedly make his acting debut in Nikhil Advani’s next film, Patiala House with Akshay Kumar. Patiala House is actually based on cricket and Wasim will play coach to Akki’s cricket team. It will be shot in London and is expected to release next year.

The film also stars Rishi Kapoor, Dimpla Kapadia and aecond movie of Anushka Sharma. The music will be scored by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics will be penned by Sameer.

Nikhil Advani and Akshay had last scene come together in the Chandni Chowk to China, which was very flop and He made earlier directed the hit Kal Ho Naa Ho and the dud Salaam-E-Ishq.

Since Farah and SRK have always been the best of friends, Farah’s decision of casting Akshay and Katrina would have, perhaps, come as a blow to her special bonding with SRK.

A source says, “Farah has wanted to work with Katrina for a long time now. Apparently, when she was working with Shah Rukh on ‘Happy New Year’, she had Katrina in mind. But given SRK and Salman`s relationship at the time, she decided against signing Kat. Now, she has no such hang-ups. Also she feels that Kat`s chemistry with Akki would work like a charm for her film.”

Grapevine has it that not just Farah, Akshay too is very keen to get Kat on board. Well, with Farah Khan teaming up with Akshay and Katrina, we can surely look forward to something fresh and different!

Nikhil Advani is on a quest for a teen-actor to play Akshay Kumar at 17 in his next film Patiala House. The director, who has worked with Akshay in Chandni Chowk To China, has decided to launch a national hunt to find a young boy to play the younger Akshay Kumar.

The audition will start on December 1 and go on till December 15 and the finalist will be selected by Nikhil Advani and Akshay Kumar himself.

Patiala House will go on floors in December this year and will be shot extensively at South Hall, London. It’s a story of Gurkreeat Singh Kalon (Rishi Kapoor) who rules his family with an iron hand. Akshay Kumar plays his son.

Besides Rishi and Akshay, the film also stars Anushka Sharma and Dimple Kapadia. Scheduled for a 2010 Diwali release, the film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Talreja. sources:indianexpress
