After a special appearance in Shootout at Lokhandwala, Junior Bachchan has a lead role in Ekta Kapoor’s Special Chhabis directed by A Wednesday’s national award winner director Neeraj Pandey.
News has confirmed that he has signed Abhishek Bachchan to play the lead for his forthcoming film ‘Special Chabbis’. The film is based on the famous 1987 heist at Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri at Opera House in Mumbai. Abhishek will play the lead role of the Mohan Singh who was the mastermind of the heist. He hired 26 conman to help his pose as Income Tax Officers and raided the jewelry shop and got away with jewelry worth in lakhs. Hence the name ‘Special Chabbis’. Neeraj could only think of Junior B to essay the role of Mohan Singh as he is said to have come from Uttar Pradesh and Junior B comes from Uttar Pradesh and will make it easier for him to portray the character.
Since the film is based on a real life incident, Junior Bachchan will have to research on Mohan Singh and get into his character, body language and lingo. Neeraj is now looking out for the 26 characters that form the team along with Mohan Singh. The film is schedule to go on floor 2010.
